The Greene County Economic Development Commission is the lead agency responsible for Greene County's economic development activities. Our mission shall be the enhancement of job opportunities, the improvement of economic growth for the county, the expansion of the tax base, effective recruitment of industrial and commercial activites for growth, encouragement of business retention and expansion, and the education of the citizenry about these issues.
To Accomplish this Mission We Shall:
- Develop goals, policies and strategies which will promote the economic growth of Greene County and enhance the quality of life for all of its citizens.
- Educate the public in the understanding of economic development.
- Receive input from citizens and other economic and community development organizations in the county to assist in developing effective economic development programs.
- Coordinate efforts with established local businesses and industries to promote their continued success and growth.
- Identify needed resources to attract new businesses and/or industries to the county.
- Build positive relationships with various state and local representatives to positive growth for the county.
- Coordinate the activities of the Economic Development Commission with the goals and objectives of the Greene County Board of Commissioners.
